HB 2135 Summary

• Establishes a task force on health care professional workforce data composed of 15 members including legislators, state agency representatives, educators, healthcare professionals, and industry representatives.

• Task force shall research and recommend establishment of a resource center for collecting health care professional workforce data, including organization, funding mechanisms, data types, and oversight provisions.

• Task force may request information from state agencies and public educational institutions, hold public hearings, conduct fact-finding tours, and take testimony from relevant witnesses.

• Task force must submit findings and recommendations to the governor, president of the senate, speaker of the house, and secretary of state by March 1, 2018.

• Task force automatically repeals on June 30, 2018; members receive no compensation but are eligible for expense reimbursement.
