• Exempts generators certified to meet US Department of Defense specification MIL-STD-188-125-1 (as of January 1, 2017) from state and county air quality emissions standards.

• Requires the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality to request a federal exemption from Clean Air Act emissions regulations for these certified generators if needed for compliance.

• Makes the exemption conditional on the US Environmental Protection Agency approving proposed modifications to state and county air quality standards under the state implementation plan by July 1, 2018.

• Requires the Department of Environmental Quality director to notify the Arizona Legislative Council by October 1, 2018 whether the federal approval condition was met.
