Community college districts must develop policies to award academic or vocational credit to current and former U.S. military members based on their active duty service length, acquired skills and competencies, and military transcripts.

The Arizona Board of Regents must develop similar policies for universities to award academic or vocational credit to military members toward baccalaureate degrees or vocational certifications.

Universities and community colleges must notify military applicants that they may be eligible for credit and can submit military training transcripts for evaluation and transfer credit application.

Institutions must work with the Department of Veterans' Services to assess and apply military education, training, and experience to academic or vocational credits in selected programs of study.

"Member of the United States military" includes current or former service members in the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Guard, or reserve units, but excludes those dishonorably discharged.
