AZ HB2402

Establishes section 28-144 to standardize restrictions on driver licenses for traffic violations, allowing driving only between residence and employment, school, medical appointments, treatment facilities, probation offices, ignition interlock service facilities, parenting time locations, or to transport dependents.

Creates new civil traffic violation section 28-3482 for driving under a suspended license for failure to appear or pay, with option for court dismissal if driving privilege is reinstated, and adds section 28-3483 allowing restricted driving privileges for prior suspended license convictions.

Modifies section 28-661 to allow restricted driving privileges as described in section 28-144 (rather than specific list) for persons convicted of hit-and-run accidents resulting in injury.

Updates sections 28-1387, 28-1401, 28-1402, and 28-1601 to reference the new standardized restrictions in section 28-144 for various suspension and restriction scenarios.

Makes related technical amendments to sections 22-125, 28-2322, 28-2328, 28-2532, 28-3308, 28-3473, 28-3480, 28-3511, and 28-4135 regarding driving privileges and violations, effective December 31, 2017.
