HB 2468 Summary

• Amends section 15-183 to require all teacher assignments be timely and accurately reported to the Department of Education pursuant to section 15-249, subsection B, paragraph 1 to facilitate child safety and educator enforcement investigations.

• Creates new section 15-186 requiring all school districts and charter schools to submit current and accurate reports of teacher assignments to facilitate child safety and investigations related to educator enforcement actions.

• Amends section 15-514 to require the chief administrator of a charter school and certificated persons to report immoral or unprofessional conduct to the Department of Education within three business days of suspecting or receiving allegations.

• Prohibits governing boards, governing bodies, and school/charter school employees with personnel control from accepting resignations of certificated educators who are reasonably suspected of conduct involving minors reportable under section 13-3620 until suspicions or allegations are reported to the State Board of Education.

• Strengthens protections against unlawful reprisal against employees who report immoral or unprofessional conduct in good faith by expanding the definition to include charter school employees.
