AZ HCR2005

Proposes a constitutional amendment to repeal Article XIX of the Arizona Constitution relating to the office of mine inspector as amended by Propositions 101 and 107 (November 1992).

Replaces the repealed article with a new Article XIX establishing that the Governor shall appoint a state mine inspector with Senate advice and consent, serving at the Governor's pleasure.

Requires the Legislature to enact laws prescribing the qualifications and duties of the state mine inspector.

Requires the Legislature to enact laws regulating mining operations and equipment to protect the health and safety of mine workers.

Directs the Secretary of State to submit the proposed amendment to voters at the next general election.
