Proclaims January 30, 2017 as Arizona Aerospace Day to recognize the aerospace industry's contributions to the state's economy, security, and education system.

Arizona aerospace industry directly employs over 56,500 people, supports 35,800 related jobs, generates more than $840 million in annual state income tax revenues, and accounts for 20% of the state's manufacturing gross domestic product.

Arizona hosts major military and aviation facilities including Luke Air Force Base, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Yuma Proving Ground, Spaceport Tucson, and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (the 10th busiest in the U.S.).

Arizona leads in aerospace research and manufacturing with ranked number one status from PricewaterhouseCoopers, premier universities including Arizona State University and University of Arizona, and significant defense contractor presence including Boeing, Raytheon, and Honeywell.

Arizona universities partnered with NASA on successful space missions including the Phoenix Mars Lander and OSIRIS-REx asteroid mission, with the upcoming 2023 launch of Arizona State University's Psyche Mission to a metal asteroid.
