AZ SB1022

Amends section 41-1750 to require the Department of Public Safety's central state repository to collect information on criminal offenses manifesting evidence of prejudice based on political affiliation, beliefs, or opinions, in addition to existing categories of race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, and disability.

Requires law enforcement agencies to report to the Department of Public Safety information concerning crimes motivated by political affiliation, beliefs, or opinions as part of hate crime data collection.

Amends section 41-1822 to mandate that peace officer training include courses on responding to and reporting criminal offenses motivated by political affiliation, opinions, or beliefs, alongside existing protected categories.

Clarifies that neither section creates a cause of action or right to bring a discrimination lawsuit based on sexual orientation.
