Requires all school districts and charter schools to provide at least one hour of interactive computer instruction to pupils in grades 4-12, designed to expose students to reading, understanding, and writing computer code.

Instruction must be offered by nationally recognized nonprofit organizations focused on expanding computer science access or entities with expertise in interactive computer instruction aligned to state board of education academic standards or school district/charter school adopted curriculum.

Students with disabilities may be exempted by their individualized education program (IEP) team, and parents may request exemptions if their child previously received comparable instruction.

School districts or charter schools may apply to the superintendent of public instruction for full or partial waivers if they lack sufficient computer infrastructure to comply with the requirement.
