• Requires candidates for partisan public office to be continuously registered with their political party from the date of their first petition signature through the general election.

• Exempts candidates for United States Senator and Representative in Congress from the residency requirement that applies to other candidates for public office.

• Adds a new provision preventing vacancy fills in partisan nomination races if at least one candidate from the vacating candidate's political party remains on the ballot for the same office or seats.

• Prohibits candidates for nomination or election to more than one federal office simultaneously, except that candidates for president or vice-president may run for one additional federal office at the same time.
