SB 1206 Summary

• Allows school governing boards to dismiss teachers holding teaching intern certificates, emergency teaching certificates, or other nonstandard certificates valid for one year or less without following standard dismissal procedures under sections 15-537, 15-538, or 15-541.

• Dismissals under this provision become effective ten days after delivery of the dismissal notice to the teacher.

• Requires that notice of the governing board's authority to dismiss teachers with short-term certificates must be included in each affected teacher's contract.
