AZ SB1223

Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 16-579 to expand valid forms of identification accepted at polling places for voter identification.

Adds valid veterans administration health identification cards issued by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and valid identification cards issued by accredited postsecondary educational institutions in Arizona as acceptable forms of identification.

These additional ID forms may be used in place of address-bearing identification when accompanied by one of the existing acceptable documents listed in the statute (such as utility bills, bank statements, or vehicle registrations).

Requires an affirmative vote of at least three-fourths of the members of each house of the legislature for the bill to become effective, pursuant to Arizona Constitution Article IV, Part 1, Section 1.
