Rick Lavis, Executive Director of the Arizona Cotton Growers Association, passed away on November 26, 2016 at age 76.

Lavis worked as a lobbyist for the Arizona Cotton Growers Association starting in 1980 and became an expert in agricultural issues including water, environment, and air quality.

He previously served as an aide to U.S. Senator Paul Fannin, worked for a natural gas company, and held a position in the U.S. Department of the Interior.

The Legislature expresses sincere regret at his passing and extends condolences to his wife Marti and sons Ben and Dan.

Resolution was unanimously adopted by both the House and Senate on March 23, 2017.
