Proclaims February 2 through February 8, 2017 as Chicano History Week in Arizona, commemorating the signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo on February 2, 1848.

Recognizes that people of Mexican origin and descent have significantly contributed to Arizona and the nation's economy, development, and growth across arts, business, media, industry, agriculture, education, and society.

Acknowledges historical injustices against early Mexican-Americans, including loss of land and property, suppression of language and culture, and denial of basic rights and opportunities despite treaty promises of citizenship.

Honors the Chicano generation as a distinct identity resulting from a unique confluence of histories, cultures, languages, and traditions, developed through the Chicano Movement of the 1960s and 1970s.

Extends tribute and recognition to Mexican-Americans and their descendants whose citizenship status changed overnight from Mexican to American under the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.
