HB 2007 Summary

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 13-701 to add a new aggravating circumstance for criminal sentencing.

• Adds paragraph 26 to the list of aggravating factors: use of a mask or other disguise to obscure the defendant's face to avoid identification during or immediately following commission of an offense.

• This new aggravating circumstance allows courts to impose enhanced sentences when defendants attempt to conceal their identity through disguises during crimes.

• The change renumbers the previous catch-all aggravating circumstance to paragraph 27.
