AZ HB2017

Repeals section 41-3018.05 of the Arizona Revised Statutes, effective retroactively from July 1, 2018.

Adds new section 41-3026.05 establishing that the State Land Department terminates on July 1, 2026, with Title 37, chapters 1 and 2 repealing on January 1, 2027.

Requires the Senate Natural Resources, Energy and Water Committee and the House Land, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee to hold a public hearing on or before July 1, 2022, during which the State Land Department must provide an update on its strategic plan.

Continues the State Land Department's authority over all state-owned lands (except those under specific state institutions) and the resources and access to those lands in accordance with the enabling act, Arizona Constitution, and state law.

Sections 1 and 2 are effective retroactively to July 1, 2018.
