• Appropriates $2,500,000 from the state general fund in fiscal year 2017-2018 to the secretary of state for reimbursing county expenses related to special primary and special general elections for Arizona's congressional district 8.

• Secretary of state shall reimburse counties for costs including ballot and election material printing, compensation for election board and tally board officers, and other administrative expenses for the special elections.

• County boards of supervisors must submit itemized claims with documentation to the secretary of state on or before June 30, 2018 for expenses incurred in administering the elections.

• Secretary of state must report to the joint legislative budget committee and governor's office of strategic planning and budgeting on or before October 1, 2018 regarding all reimbursements made under this appropriation.

• Any monies remaining unexpended and unencumbered on December 31, 2018 revert to the state general fund.
