AZ HB2125

Establishes a towing safety task force consisting of 9 members: two House representatives from different parties (one as chair), two Senate members from different parties (one as vice chair), the Department of Public Safety director or designee, two industry representatives, one local law enforcement representative, and one at-large member.

Task force duties include reviewing existing towing laws for safety effectiveness, receiving data and testimony on towing and roadside safety, recommending driver education measures, and proposing policy improvements for towing safety.

Requires the task force to submit final findings and recommendations to the governor, Senate president, House speaker, and Secretary of State by December 31, 2018.

Task force may hold public hearings, conduct fact-finding tours, and take witness testimony; legislature provides staff and support services; members receive no compensation.

Section repeals September 30, 2019.
