• Allows trained school employees and contracted nurses (in addition to existing personnel) to administer inhalers to pupils experiencing respiratory distress at school or school-sponsored activities under a standing order from a county health department chief medical officer.

• Extends immunity from civil liability for inhaler administration decisions to contracted nurses and school district employees when acting in good faith, except in cases of gross negligence, willful misconduct, or intentional wrongdoing.

• Permits school districts and charter schools to accept monetary donations, grants, and direct donations of inhalers and spacers or holding chambers from manufacturers for emergency use.

• Requires charter schools to prescribe and enforce policies and procedures for emergency inhaler administration by trained employees or contracted nurses.

• Authorizes school district governing boards to prescribe and enforce policies and procedures for emergency inhaler administration by trained employees and contracted nurses.
