HB 2345 Summary

• Public postsecondary educational institutions must annually provide students with estimates of their total education loan amounts taken out.

• Institutions must provide estimates of the potential total payoff amount (or range), monthly repayment amounts including principal and interest, and the student's future earning potential based on their course of study.

• Institutions must disclose what percentage of the borrowing limit the student has reached at the time information is provided.

• Estimates and ranges provided may include a disclaimer that they are general in nature and not guaranteed or promised actual amounts.

• Public postsecondary educational institutions are granted immunity from liability for any representations made under this section.
