HB2411 Summary

• Amends behavioral health professional licensure laws to remove temporal language ("beginning November 1, 2015") from definitions of direct client contact and indirect client service in section 32-3251.

• Modifies section 32-3253 to require the board of behavioral health examiners to provide applicants with comprehensive written requests for additional information if an academic review committee needs more details from them.

• Updates section 32-3261 to allow the governor (rather than only the board) to appoint academic review committee members beginning January 1, 2016, and renumbers subsections accordingly.

• Corrects cross-reference in section 32-3272 regarding curriculum approval applications and adds a fee waiver allowing applicants to waive the independent level license application fee if they paid for an initial or renewal associate level license within 90 days prior.

• Requires the board of massage therapy and three regulatory boards (homeopathic and integrated medicine examiners, state board of dispensing opticians, and board of behavioral health examiners) to report by December 31, 2018 on reducing administrative burdens and streamlining licensing processes, with these reporting requirements repealed June 30, 2019.
