Homeowners' associations may use Doppler radar units or other speed enforcement tools to detect traffic violations only if the equipment is properly calibrated by a licensed facility and results are submitted to the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board.

Operators of radar or speed enforcement equipment must complete at least 10 hours of training on proper use of the device before enforcement.

Speed violations detected by HOA radar equipment must exceed the posted speed limit by at least 10 miles per hour to be enforceable.

Homeowners' associations must provide residents with at least the same notice and opportunity to be heard as required under section 33-1803 before enforcing detected speed violations.
