HCR 2005 Summary

• Concurrent resolution honoring Frank Kush, the winningest coach in Arizona State University football history, who passed away on June 22, 2017 at age 88.

• Kush compiled 176 wins across 21.5 seasons at Arizona State, led the Sun Devils to seven Western Athletic Conference Championships, and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1995.

• Under Kush's leadership, Arizona State went 16-5 against rival University of Arizona, won six of seven bowl games including the 1970 Peach Bowl and 1975 Fiesta Bowl, and was named National Coach of the Year in 1975.

• Kush coached 38 All-Americans and 128 players who went on to play in the National Football League, including three College Football Hall of Famers and three Pro Football Hall of Famers.

• The Legislature expresses sincere regret for Kush's passing and extends sympathies and condolences to his surviving family members and friends.
