AZ HCR2006

Proposes constitutional amendment to change Arizona state senators' terms from two years to four years beginning with the fifty-fifth legislature in 2021, while maintaining two-year terms for state representatives.

Reduces state senators' term limits from four consecutive terms to two consecutive terms beginning in 2021, while keeping state representatives limited to four consecutive terms.

Establishes transition rules for senators based on when their service began: senators starting in 2015 may serve one additional term; senators starting in 2017 may serve one additional term; senators starting in 2019 may serve two additional terms under the new four-year system.

Maintains existing rule that legislators who serve the maximum number of terms must sit out for at least one full term before being eligible for the same office again.

Requires voter approval through the general election as provided by the Arizona Constitution.
