AZ HCR2012

Ratifies the proposed Equal Rights Amendment (House Joint Resolution 208) to the U.S. Constitution, originally adopted by Congress on March 22, 1972.

The amendment provides that equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state on account of sex.

Grants Congress power to enforce the amendment through appropriate legislation, with the amendment taking effect two years after ratification.

Directs the Arizona Secretary of State to transmit a copy of the resolution to the President of the U.S. Senate and Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
