AZ HCR2023

Proposes an amendment to Article IV, Part 2, Section 5 of the Arizona Constitution regarding legislator eligibility for other public offices.

Clarifies that members of the legislature are not eligible to hold any other office or be employed by the state or any county, city, or town during their elected term.

Creates exceptions allowing legislators to serve as school trustees and to work as teachers, instructors in the public school system, peace officers, or firefighters.

Requires submission of the proposed constitutional amendment to Arizona voters at the next general election.
