SB 1014 Summary

• Modifies the definition of "zoning area" for purposes of protest filing to mean the area within 150 feet (including rights-of-way) of the affected property subject to the proposed amendment or change, or the area of the proposed amendment or change itself.

• Changes the protest threshold requirement from "within the zoning area of the affected property" to "within one hundred fifty feet, including all rights-of-way, of the zoning area" for purposes of determining when a three-fourths vote is required.

• Makes clarifying language changes throughout the statute, including replacing "such" with "the" or "a" in multiple locations and replacing "as may be specified" with "prescribed."

• Corrects grammatical phrasing in provisions regarding county zoning continuation after annexation, changing "in no event for" to "not" longer than six months.
