SB 1025 Summary

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 28-6533 regarding the Arizona Highway User Revenue Fund (HURF).

• Specifies that HURF revenues shall be spent only for construction or maintenance of transportation infrastructure as prescribed in the Arizona Constitution, Article IX, Section 14.

• Prohibits counties and incorporated cities and towns from using highway user revenue fund monies for enforcement of traffic laws or administration of traffic safety programs.

• Authorizes the State Treasurer to withhold revenues from jurisdictions that misuse HURF funds until the auditor general confirms the jurisdiction has replaced diverted amounts from other general revenue sources.

• Requires counties receiving motor vehicle fuel and use fuel tax monies to publish annual financial reports by December 31 detailing budgeted and actual expenditures for the prior fiscal year.
