SB 1032 Summary

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 28-7903 to regulate outdoor advertising adjacent to interstate, primary, and secondary highway systems.

• Prohibits outdoor advertising visible from main traveled ways of highways, except where specifically authorized, including signs that simulate traffic control devices or use warning language like "stop" or "slow down."

• Prohibits outdoor advertising that displays red, flashing, blinking, intermittent or moving lights visible from roadways, except for public service information signs showing time, date, weather, or temperature.

• Prohibits outdoor advertising that promotes controlled substances under federal law, obscures traffic signs or signals, obstructs driver vision, or is placed on trees, rocks, or natural features.

• Restricts outdoor advertising placement at freeway and interstate interchanges outside city limits to areas more than 500 feet beyond pavement widening at exit or entrance points.
