Extends the statute of limitations for claims alleging medical malpractice resulting in death of a person being treated for mental health illness from one year to eighteen months after the cause of action accrues for actions against public entities or public employees.

Adds a new exception to the 180-day notice requirement for filing claims against public entities, public schools, or public employees, allowing claims alleging medical malpractice resulting in death during mental health treatment to be filed within one year after the cause of action accrues.

Clarifies that "public school" is included alongside "public entity" and "public employee" in the authorization requirements for filing claims under A.R.S. § 12-821.01.

Amends A.R.S. § 12-821 and § 12-821.01 to create an extended filing deadline specifically for medical malpractice death claims related to mental health treatment.
