SB 1128 Summary

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 16-579 to add a valid Veterans Administration health identification card issued by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as an acceptable form of voter identification at polling places.

• Allows veterans with a valid VA health ID card that lacks an address to use it with one supplemental document (such as a utility bill, bank statement, or voter registration card) to satisfy voter identification requirements.

• Applies the same identification acceptance standards to VA health ID cards as existing military identification cards and U.S. passports.

• Requires passage by an affirmative vote of at least three-fourths of the members of both houses of the legislature per Arizona Constitution article IV, part 1, section 1.
