SB 1214 Summary

• Amends salary schedules for county elected officials (Attorney, Assessor, Recorder, Sheriff, Superintendent of Schools, Supervisor, and Treasurer) effective January 1, 2021, with increased pay rates for both large counties (500,000+ population) and smaller counties.

• For large counties: County Attorney salary increases to $142,971; Assessor, Recorder, Superintendent, Supervisor, and Treasurer increase to $88,549; Sheriff increases to $116,552.

• For smaller counties (under 500,000 population): County Attorney salary increases to $142,971; Assessor, Recorder, Superintendent, Supervisor, and Treasurer increase to $73,752; Sheriff increases to $116,552.

• Updates salary for Clerk of Superior Court in large counties to $93,452 and in smaller counties to $77,836, subject to review by the commission on salaries for elective state officers.

• Effective date for clerk salary changes is December 31, 2018.
