Employers with at least 50 employees in Arizona must grant employees up to 16 hours of unpaid school conference or activity leave per school year to attend events related to their child's education, with no more than 4 hours in a single day.

Employee must have worked for the employer for at least 6 consecutive months, work at least half-time equivalent hours, exhaust other leave types first (vacation, personal, compensatory), and provide at least 7 days written notice (24 hours for emergencies).

Employers may deny leave if granting it would result in more than 5% of the workforce being absent simultaneously, and employees must consult with employers to minimize operational disruption.

Schools must make conferences and activities available during both regular school hours and evening hours, and must provide attendance verification documentation if requested by parents.

Department of Education and Industrial Commission of Arizona must notify schools and employers respectively about the requirements of this act, officially titled the "Parental Involvement Leave Act."
