SB 1287 - ADOT Revisions

• Adds "evidence" definition to allow display of department-generated driver licenses, identification licenses, vehicle registration cards, and electronic/digital license plates on wireless communication devices as valid evidence.

• Authorizes the Director of Transportation to establish systems for electronic/digital notice delivery, financial accounts for prepayment of fees, and electronic compliance with photograph and vision test requirements.

• Allows vehicle registration cards to be carried or displayed on wireless communication devices, and permits displaying insurance identification cards on wireless devices as proof of financial responsibility.

• Expands address definition to include electronic or digital addresses for persons consenting to receive department services electronically, and allows address updates through phone, writing, electronic means, or in person.

• Modifies vehicle license plate credit provisions effective August 31, 2019, allowing credits to be posted to owner records or financial accounts instead of requiring refunds, and clarifies the prorated credit calculation method.
