SB 1301 Summary

• Establishes the Citizens Finance Review Task Force consisting of 24 members including state legislators, agency directors, business representatives, educators, and economists from Arizona universities.

• Task force shall analyze state revenue sources compared to other states, including tax credits and exemptions; analyze state expenditures compared to other states; and make recommendations on retiring state debt.

• Requires task force to hold regular open meetings with public notice and testimony, with at least one meeting each in Tucson, Yuma, and Flagstaff.

• Mandates task force submit findings and recommendations report by September 30, 2019, and present to joint meeting of house and senate appropriations committees by January 31, 2020.

• Task force automatically repeals September 30, 2020.
