• Defines "veteran status" as having served on active duty in the armed forces of the United States and applies this protection across employment, housing, and public accommodation provisions.

• Expands employment discrimination protections to include these three new classes in hiring, promotion, compensation, and training decisions by employers, employment agencies, and labor organizations.

• Extends housing discrimination protections to prohibit denials or discrimination in sales, rentals, financing, and brokerage services based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or veteran status.
