AZ SB1379

Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 48-2607 to exclude flood protection districts from the requirement to divide into three or five geographic divisions with one director elected from each division.

Creates new section 48-2816 requiring flood protection districts to be governed by a board of three or five directors elected at large by property owners within the district.

Limits voting eligibility in flood protection district elections to owners of real property located within the district boundaries on which all taxes have been paid as shown by the county tax roll immediately preceding the election date.

Extends voting rights to administrators, executors, guardians, corporate officers, general partners, trustees, and limited liability company members who are authorized representatives of estates, minors, corporations, partnerships, trusts, or LLCs that own taxed property in the district.

Establishes that the bill is an emergency measure operative immediately upon enactment, approved by the Governor on April 12, 2018.
