AZ SB1406

Amends Arizona campaign finance law to create an exemption for city and town elections allowing individuals, candidates, and entities to file a statement declaring intent to accept less than $1,000 in contributions or expenditures before soliciting funds or making expenditures.

Requires persons, candidates, or entities that file the exemption statement but then receive contributions or make expenditures totaling $1,000 or more to register as a committee within five business days and comply with all committee requirements.

Exempts the $1,000 threshold amount specified in the city and town elections exemption from the biennial dollar increases prescribed in section 16-931.

Increases the committee registration thresholds in section 16-905 by $100 in January of each odd-numbered year, and increases contribution limits in article 1.2 of the chapter by the same amount annually.

Applies the threshold exemption only to city and town elections, not state-level campaigns or elections.
