SB 1525 Summary

• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 49-210 to add water quality monitoring and aquifer pollution reporting as authorized uses of the water quality fee fund.

• Modifies Laws 2018, chapter 225, section 11 to clarify the conditional repeal date of August 1, 2023 for the clean water act section 404 dredge and fill permit program unless EPA approval is obtained.

• Allows Arizona water protection fund commission to grant up to $336,000 to the department of water resources for fiscal year 2018-2019 administrative costs.

• Authorizes Arizona state parks board to spend up to $692,100 from the off-highway vehicle recreation fund and allows department of environmental quality to use up to $6,531,000 from the underground storage tank revolving fund in fiscal year 2018-2019 for administrative costs and Naco sewage remediation.

• Appropriates $6.5 million from emissions inspection fund, $5 million from air quality fund, and $2.052 million from recycling fund to the water quality assurance revolving fund for fiscal year 2018-2019, with intent to supplement by additional $2 million in direct deposits.
