Honors the 241 American service personnel killed in the October 23, 1983 bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, which also killed 58 French soldiers.

The attack killed 220 Marines (the deadliest attack on Marines since Iwo Jima in 1945), 18 sailors, and 3 soldiers, while injuring 128 Americans.

The bombing was carried out by a suicide bomber driving a truck carrying approximately 21,000 pounds of explosives into the barracks compound at Beirut airport.

Proclaims October 23, 2018 as Beirut Bombing Remembrance Day in Arizona to honor those who died in the attack and recognize the service members' sacrifice.
