William J. "Bill" English, a native Arizonan, passed away on June 22, 2017, at age 86.

He served as a member of the Arizona House of Representatives for Legislative District 9 from 1976 through 1990, serving as chairman of both the Banking and Insurance and Rules Committees.

Prior to his legislative career, English worked as an electronic and oceanographic engineer for Bell Aerospace and NASA, founded and presided over Allied General, and worked as a realtor and southern Arizona land developer.

He was a Tucson High School alumnus and Arizona National Guard veteran who is survived by his four children (Mark, Karen, Pamela, and William) and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The Legislature expresses regret for his passing and extends condolences to his surviving family members.
