• Directs the review team to develop a drug overdose data collection system, annually analyze overdose fatalities and causes, develop investigation protocols, and study statutory and regulatory changes needed to reduce preventable drug overdose deaths.

• Maintains confidentiality protections for all information and records acquired by local drug overdose fatality review teams, making them not subject to subpoena or discovery in civil, criminal, or disciplinary proceedings.

• Provides that team members appointed under the bill are eligible for expense reimbursement but not compensation, and designates one member as chairperson.
