• Updates statutory language from gender-specific pronouns (his, him, such) to gender-neutral terminology (the water superintendent's, that person).

• Maintains existing class 2 misdemeanor penalties for unauthorized interference with headgates, measuring devices, water boxes, and water diversion.

• Clarifies that if no water superintendent is appointed for a water district, any affected person within that district may file a complaint with law enforcement for violations of water use laws.

• Effective date: June 6, 2019.
