HB 2489 - Election Procedures Oversight Committee

• Establishes a new election procedures oversight committee consisting of two House members, two Senate members, one additional appointee each from House and Senate leadership, and the Secretary of State as a nonvoting member.

• Requires the committee to meet at least annually to audit the collection and transfer of voting results from 2018 and following general elections, review election security technology, and examine voter registration rolls for ballot eligibility accuracy.

• Members of the committee are not eligible for compensation, except that the House and Senate appointees may be reimbursed for expenses.

• Committee must submit annual reports by December 31 to the President of the Senate, Speaker of the House, and Secretary of State detailing findings.

• The committee automatically sunsets and is repealed effective February 1, 2026.
