Expands definition of aggravated assault to include assault on hospital or medical facility employees and contracted workers while engaged in work duties or health care practitioners licensed under title 32.

Establishes exception to health care worker assault provision for persons who are seriously mentally ill (as defined in section 36-550) or afflicted with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia.

Classifies aggravated assault on health care practitioners under subsection A, paragraph 8, subdivision (e) that involves physical injury as a class 5 felony.

Maintains existing assault classifications for other protected classes including peace officers, teachers, firefighters, and prosecutors with specific felony levels based on circumstances and injury severity.
