• Requires peace officers responding to domestic violence calls to inform victims in writing of available protections including orders of protection, injunctions against harassment, emergency contact numbers, and local domestic violence resources.

• Preserves existing firearm seizure procedures during domestic violence incidents, including 72-hour holding periods and court hearings to determine whether seized firearms should be retained to protect potential victims.

• Requires peace officers to conduct child welfare checks when minors are present at domestic violence incidents to determine if children are safe or may be victims of abuse.
