Department of health services must submit a report by December 31, 2020 to the governor, legislature, and secretary of state evaluating disorders on the recommended uniform screening panel not currently included in Arizona's newborn screening program.

Report must include assessment of number of newborn infants impacted by each test, evaluation of testing methodology and equipment, and identification of clinical or technological challenges to adding screenings.

Report must include cost analysis to the Arizona health care cost containment system for adding each test, with possible cost savings methods delineated by individual test.

Report must be developed in conjunction with the newborn screening advisory committee and Arizona health care cost containment system administration.

This reporting requirement is repealed effective June 30, 2021.
