AZ HCR2020

Proposes an amendment to Article IX, Section 12 of the Arizona Constitution to repeal the state income tax effective January 1, 2031.

Allows the legislature to continue providing for income taxes through December 31, 2030, creating an 11-year transition period.

Beginning January 1, 2031, individuals, corporations, and other legal entities would be prohibited from state income taxation by Arizona, counties, cities, towns, or other political subdivisions.

Removes "income" and "graduated income taxes" from the list of taxes the legislature is authorized to levy and collect.

Requires the Secretary of State to submit this constitutional amendment to Arizona voters at the next general election for approval.
