Amends section 36-2907 of Arizona Revised Statutes to add chiropractic services as a covered health and medical service under the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) for persons at least 21 years of age.

Primary care physicians or primary care practitioners may initially order up to 20 chiropractic visits annually and may authorize additional visits if medically necessary; services must be performed by a licensed chiropractor.

Monies from the hospital assessment fund established by section 36-2901.09 cannot be used to provide chiropractic services under AHCCCS.

AHCCCS administration must prescribe qualifying conditions and provider qualifications, require contractors to report on chiropractic service usage and cost savings, and submit a cost-savings determination report to the governor and legislature by January 1, 2023.

The chiropractic services provision is repealed effective June 30, 2024, making this a temporary authorization pending evaluation of cost effectiveness.
