Increases the property damage threshold requiring a written motor vehicle accident report from $1,000 to $2,000.

Law enforcement officers or public employees investigating accidents must complete written reports if there is bodily injury, death, property damage exceeding $2,000, or a citation is issued.

For accidents with property damage of $2,000 or less with no citation or injury, officers must complete a portion of the written report including time, location, parties' identifying information, and a narrative description with diagram.

Accident reports must be completed either at the scene or within 24 hours after completing the investigation.

Reports shall be forwarded to the Department of Transportation, and copies must be provided to involved parties, their representatives, insurers, attorneys, and insurance support organizations upon request, except for commercial solicitation purposes.
